plugin pages are 404

Question

Apparently I've lost the plot for installing plugins.

I installed qa in a root subdirectory, /qa. Everything works fine except plugin pages aren't found by the server when the links are clicked.

I'm using the "relative" path, e.g. for the FAQ plugin, 'faq'.

Can someone advise what I should be doing differently?

Does changing "URL Structure" option solve the problem?

Admin > General > URL Structure
