Using "Ask box" widget gives no categories

I enabled the "Ask box" widget. When I type a question in the box, it goes to the Ask a question page. However the categories dropdown is empty. If instead, I click Ask a question from the menubar, categories is populated as expected.

I assume this must be a Q2A bug.

Both of menu and widget do same movement in my environment. Does not URL parameter (?cat=) move definitely in your environment? When you choose specific category, this URL parameter becomes effective.

If I click use the Ask Box to ask a question the url becomes http://html5panda.com/ask?cat= and the category dropdown is empty.

When I click on the menu item "Ask a question" the url becomes http://html5panda.com/ask and the category dropdown is populated.
