how to alert subscribers to new questions

Hi I've just set up a q&A site and want to let my subscribers know by email if a new question, that relates to a category or tag they have previously been interested in, comes up. Is there a plugin or code for this that others are using already?

I don't know if anyone's using them, but yes, there are plugins for that already.

Beware that most Q2APro plugins have been unpublished by the author. Many of them can still be found in the ProThoughts Github account, though.
