Receiving and sending out email confirmation for new users

Question

What do i need to do to start receiving and sending out email confirmation for new users that register on my website. i have search everywhere but it seems there is no solution. pls help me, new user can only register but don't get email conformation to proceed. Kindly help me out.   Thanks in advance

So the system does not send mails or you do not require the confirmation of user registration?

You can test to detect the cause of the problem. Log in as admin, and check on Permissions and Users tab. First, I think you disable the requirements of email confirmation, but check on the option to receive the email when one user registers. If you got no mail, then the problem is the email system.

i think this person is referring to the smpt settings from scratch. pls help @teddydoors. i am having the same issue.
