I ran into an issue that my admin/moderator users closed old questions to new incoming questions. However, the right way would be to close new questions to old questions.
I am using the merge plugin which removes the original question after closing.
Problem: Many questions are linked from other websites, the link would be either non-existing or redirect (with the merge plugin).
Solution: Disallow the closing of old question to new ones.
The date check should happen in question-post.php
