Hi, I have checked this solution out https://github.com/arjunsuresh/qa-blog-post and it is nice.

The question is: Why do we need a seperate blog plugin.  Why not simply have a checkmark flag when creating a question and call it a blog.  Then it would be filtered out of post listings, and all blogs can be shown together as well using that flag.  This way, the amount of code is minimized, and perhaps we achieve consistency, as we don't have to replicate anything?

Depends on the use case. In my site for the blogs I required the exact same category as the Q2A site. But this might be different for others. Same for tags too. I prefer keeping them separate to avoid any confusion for the users- but if the users prefer otherwise, that's better. In my site blog is primarily used by admin and hence keeping them separate makes it easier. I also use post filtering on my site for some other purpose and it requires core change- I hope filtering option would be added in future release of Q2A. I'm using the below paid blog plugin on my site now as it gives unlimited category support and works exactly like Q2A at the same time not disturbing Q2A.
