The test message was sent but not recieved

Question

When i send a test mail it says The test message was sent to someone@example.com

but I do not recieve any message in gmail. why is this happening. I installed sendmail using sudo apt install sendmail

The site is hosted on Amazon light sail LAMP. Is there any package I have to host?

What is the mail configuration of your Q2A install? Local mail or SMTP? Since you said you installed sendmail it's probably local mail, so check your local mail log for the recipient address.

Also, sendmail is a terrible mail server choice. Use Postfix instead.
