How can I hide the registration link?

I'd like to hide the registration link to the site only works with anonymous users.

I need to edit qa-nav-user-list element, but I don't know how...

Use CSS to target the class qa-nav-user-register in a custom theme.

Can I really disable the register function? I want visitors can only view my Q/A site and they can only register one day per month (I will enable register function that day). If I hide the register link by using CSS, people can still register by disable CSS or using tool like Firebug.
