Read-only questions

Hello,

I've been looking for a way to set questions as read-only (closed?) in Q2A 1.7 and I've been unable to.

In my use case, I have some questions that I want to freeze, by using a special category or tag, so they cannot longer receive contributions. Hiding doesn't serve me, as we want users to be able to read them.

Am I missing a plugin/configuration option somewhere?

In my implementation questions are conferences and answers are user's opinions. After some weeks conferences are to be moved to a readonly archive.

Same behaviour as a FAQ, yes.

That is normal "close" option. It should be there on 1.7.4 or any version of Q2A. I'm having it on 1.8. Which theme are you using?

Navigate to admin/posting. There you'll find the setting Allow questions to be manually closed.
