How can I add a certain sidebar to a certain category?

I think I should overwrite sidebar function on qa-theme.php and add "if $cat-name='myCatname' then echo 'html info' ", so what is the name of the function that shows sidebar? what is the name of the Current Category Name varieble?

can you please include code, thanks?
