What is the best time setting in days to set the cache system by folder?

I have defined the folder in the file system within the hosting.

within the administration system it is defined like this.

7 days means that for 7 days the changes in css are kept in memory?

If I make changes within those 7 days, will the changes not be seen?

If so, is it better to define fewer days of cache?
