If you ban an IP address, that user can still register for a new account. That shouldn't happen, right?

You're right, and I'll fix this in the next maintenance release. The good news is that if the IP is blocked, the new user can't do anything after registering.

Yeah this was just playing havoc with my chat plugin because it wasn't checking permissions properly :S

I'm working on version 1.4.2 and just checked this. It seems that IP blocked users cannot actually register new accounts. Are you using the latest Q2A version and can you take another look?

This was on version 1.3. Currently in the middle of doing upgrades to v1.4 with new plugins and stuff so it's taken a while. I'll trust that it works fine on that version. BTW something that might be useful is if a user is blocked but not IP banned, to prevent new accounts being made on that IP for a while.
