How to reduce the body wrapping in the default CSS theme?

I wanted to reduce the body wrapping from 980px (which is the default) to about 800px. The only problem is that the side panel jumps over when I do this. Is there a way to either make the side panel outside the body wrapping, or to remove it altogether?

You will need to reduce the size of these CSS classes:

• qa-main
• qa-q-view-main
• qa-q-item-main
• qa-a-item-main

There may be some more I'm not sure. You will probably also have to reduce the number of columns on the users and tags pages - that's in the admin options under "Viewing".
