Is there a way to make comments threaded.  Right now it being flat, it is hard to see who is answering what.

I just saw this, but an old thread.  Is it still impossible?

beginning a reply with the '@author' would be more easy to implement.

This should be improved in Q2A core. I can not understand well difference of "comment" and "reply" buttons yet.

Just listening to Jeff Atwood, formerly of Stack Exchange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEc6Eyogb9Y

Comments are non-threaded by design.  They are not designed to get super long, and are "2nd class citizens". They allow "minimum discussion necessary to get great questions and great answers". So real answers should be posted as "answers" and not discussions.
