Well maybe yes, but there was not much change again to make it visible to regular users and administrators and site owners read the documentation about the changes and then get it and upgrade or not. For me it was one big upgrade suffering, nothing did not run as it should be but it's OK again.
Developers simply did a great job, just before permanently con update was processed external plugin.
So actually I do not know, it is necessary demo 1.7 probably not.
