run two members tables

hi i currently have a database of users which I want to integrate with Q2A, however i'd also like some users to register only for Q&A and not my main site.

I have two types of users that visit my site, type one will register and promote their business (all ready registered in my existing database) and type 2 will seek information about these businesses.

How can I integrate type 1 with the script so when they login to my site they are also logged into Q&A AND have type 2 users which only get the functionality of Q2A and not my main site.

Is this possible?

If you want Q2A to manage your users, but also allow them to log in to Q2A using their identity from your main site, you should create a plugin with a login module. More information here: http://www.question2answer.org/advanced.php#plugin
