I currently have an install in its own directory (named 'q2a), so all activity is within that directory.

Keeping the install where it is, I want to be able to publish into the root of the domain.

What do I need to do for this?

(This is like the WordPress set-up... where a WordPress address (url) can be set, with a different site address (url) if you want your site homepage to be different from the directory in which you installed WordPress.)

I'm not exactly sure why you would want to do this, but you can use a symbolic link on your server, or configure your web server to serve the site from the q2a directory.

Thanks.

And I need to ask for more info - sym links are beyond my current understanding.

My reason for wanting it this way is flexibility and control. I always keep the root as clear as possible, with a specific directory into which I install all apps - even though they may 'publish' into the root.

That's where I appreciate the functionality to specify an url for the install and a different one for the publishing path. So yeah, that's a feature request for a future upgrade.

Meantime though, I'm happy to edit core files and/or htaccess to get it working - but need to be told just what to do.
