Is there a way to use Q2A in test mode (i.e., non-published) during development?

I think Wordpress has that kind of functionality with it's Publish button.

If Q2A does not currently have that functionality, would it be technically feasilble for someone to develop a plug-in to provide that functionality? Or would Gideon consider adding it to the core?

If you want to make your whole site unavailable, you can use the "Take site down for temporary maintenance" option in the General section of the admin panel.
