Simple and double quotes in markdown editor plugin

When working with Markdown Editor plugin, quotes are not respected, and are replaced in the final result with \\´ or similar. How can I repair parser to fix it?

Hi, Markdown editor developer here. I think this may be due to magic quotes being turned on, on your server, which are a remnant of old PHP. What version of PHP are you using?

Can you tell me EXACTLY what you submitted in the editor box, and what the exact result was? For example:

Submitted: "Hello"

Result: \\"Hello\\"
