I am using mediawiki to authenticate question2answer and the avatar images are automatically disabled in Q2A. How can I get this back and enable it so users can upload avatars?

If MediaWiki has its own system for uploading avatars for user accounts, you can modify qa-external-users.php to show those. However it's not possible to have Q2A's internal avatars enabled if you're using external user integration.
