How can I restrict complete site access without the user signing in/registering?

Question

Maybe a sign-in/register window would be ideal and actually perfect. This way users have to have an account to view/use the website!

I'm aware you can make question viewing restricted but what about complete site access? Thanks!

You could do this fairly easily within your custom theme - in an early function like doctype(), check the requested page, and if it's not the login/register page, check if the user is logged in, and if not, do a redirection.
