can this be done to control spam ?

Question

I was looking through users and seen a lot of emails that were probably spam could a feature be added to only allow reconized email servers such as gmail, msn or what have you so that when a person goes to register they have to use one of those servers in order to register ?

The Registration Blocker plugin provides this feature since version 1.5.0.

Ok I have so how so I set it up to only allow the email domains I like and how will that affect users that are already register with  email domains that are already register but not on the list ?

The plugin does not affect existing users. To install download and unpack the plugin to your plugins folder. To configure go to the plugin options (under Administration center -> Plugins), enter the domains in the "Email Domains" field (comma-separated) and check the "Whitelist Email Domains" checkbox. Then click "Save Options".

I have already got that installed but  iam uncertain as to where and how do do it I seen something said white list  lets say I want to fix it so that only people using gmail can register how exactly would I do that ?

OkI tested it and tried to log in with a email other then gmail and I got a This domain is not allowed Where would I edit that text to state which domains are allowed ?

You need to modify the plugin's language file for that (the value of the key "email_domain_not_allowed" to be precise).
