How can I tell how much the plugins I use in q2a affect the boot speed?

This may make sense, but is there no tool to show speed values like wordpress?

If you are testing on your local machine you can set 'QA_DEBUG_PERFORMANCE' to true in qa-config.php and it will show timing at the bottom of every page along with SQL queries and the like.

Besides that check your live website in something like Web Page Test or Google's PageSpeed Insights.
