Can i enable single sign on once my site is live?

I have already installed my site using the internal Q2A user management.  I'm now exploring how to set up single sign on with my custom site.  It works fine on a test installation of Q2A but I have existing questions in the old site so I need to either:

  1. Import existing questions, tags, categories into the new SSO site, or
  2. Enable SSO on the existing site

Is it possible to enable SSO on the existing site or am I better trying to migrate over to the new SSO site?
