I checked this a long time ago when question2answer couldn't store IPv6 addreses.

Anything changed?

Good question! No, not as of yet. As far as I can see, 128-bit integers aren't supported by MySQL, so this would have to be stored as a binary string in the database. If there is sufficient demand I will look into this for the next release.
