I'm on version 1.8.0 and opensearch is available by default. Can someone please tell me what is the use of enabling opensearch? I have read the document and it isn't clear. Specifically, can someone tell me the following things about the opensearch plugin?
- Will enabling it increase my site's ranking on google?
- Will enabling it make my pages index in a different way on google?
- I read somewhere that it slows down the sites by almost half a second. Does anyone know whether there are any disadvantages if I don't enable it?
