Q2A has a "maintenance mode" option at the bottom of Admin > General options. So the general process for migrating would be:
1. Turn on maintenance mode.
2. Backup your database.
3. Upload your files to the new server and import your database backup there.
4. On the new server, check everything runs OK, then turn off maintenance mode.
5. Remove everything from the old server.
