I just read this thread, and went back to my site to check that this indeed the case in Q2A (at least in 1.7.0).

In one of the comments, they link to a site where there is a demo showing the vulnerability. I hope our savvy might find it helpful

Q2A version: 1.7.0

it's not the case in this site, which I good. Could it be a template issue? or I'm in need of updating my site?

Edit: I'm using the markup editor on my site (could it be related ?)

Yes it seems to be a global problem with using _blank. It's not a bug in Q2A, there is nothing we can really do about it. If you're concerned about the issue, turn off that option in your site. (Personally I think it's much better for usability to NOT open links in new windows.)

BTW I think it's likely that browsers will do something to fix this issue in the near future.

Could this be that something? https://jakearchibald.com/2016/performance-benefits-of-rel-noopener/ . Should we be adding this rel=noopener?
