Is it possible to redirect mypage.com/questions/category1 to mypage.com/category1 not using latest activity ?

Question

I dont want to use recent activity in a category and so I do not need a difference between

mypage.com/questions/category1

and

mypage.com/category1

 

So I want to see the whole category view including paging when visiting

mypage.com/category1

I know I can choose mypage.com/questions/ in config as homepage, but the script still needs to go to a

....questions/ page to show all questions with paging inside a category.

 

Any idea ??
