Why usign qa_words table?

Hello guys,

i am really new into Q2A world, and i am trying to understand its logic.

I am wondering why Q2A uses seperate table "qa_words" for full text indexing purposes? Is that because InnoDB engine do not support full text searches?

Why does the related question not answer your question? It says "The reasoning for that is better indexing of content and faster searches".
