Feature Request - please allow us to order the page tabs more freely and change their default names

Question

I've seen some posts about ordering the page tabs by name in code but I'd like the pages admin settings page to allow us to specify the order of the tabs shown in the navigation bar.  The current method doesn't provide granular enough control and also doesn't allow us to change the names the default tabs.

I'd like both of those features.  The options for setting where custom page tabs are placed isn't granular enough either - I would like more control.
