I have set up google analytics and like to connect it to the searchbox. For that, I have to define a name attribute. The default is name="q" - however since I am using analytics on other subfolders / subdomains there are other tools that use a q-paramter to get content! Consequently I need to change the q to another name, e.g. "searchterm".

Is that easily possible without too many core hacking?
I see 'field_tags' only used in qa-page.php and qa-page.php.

But I could not find yet where the input value (q) is passed to. It goes to "./search"?

closed with the note: Not necessary, as you can define up to 5 query parameters in Google Analytics: "Use commas to separate multiple parameters (5 max)"
