Has email feature changed - mine has stopped working

Installed Q2A in 2018 using SMTP service on my Microsoft 365 small business account in 2018.

Emailing worked ok until about two years ago for things like new user confirmation, then stopped working even though no changes were made to the site or 365 setup (to my knowledge).

Confession: The Q2A version is still as of 2018 as I neglected the site for a while.

We use the mailing service and it works fine. But we have to keep Google happy by adding proper SPF and other DNS records. If mails are not going, you can first check in Web server logs and then in mail server logs. If SMTP is used, second part is not required.
