Can I overwrite core pages with page modules?

Question

I have created my own versions of the user profile page and the users page, and I am currently running these pages in parallel to the original pages, as if I try and set the pages to have the same url as the page they should be replacing, I only see the original pages.

 

Is there a method to display the new pages instead of the original ones at the original page address?

You can use $QA_CONST_PATH_MAP (see qa-config.php), e.g. to consider requests for 'users' as a request for your own 'my_users' page. FYI this might interfere with your listing in the Q2A directory, if that's important to you.
