Hi,

I came across this issue myself, and noticed a lot of people had it, yet I did not come across any `full` solutions:

The issue summarized:
- When pasting an image, the Ckeditor will convert it into base64 therefore exceeding the 12000 characters limit Q2A has by default (due to DB limitations)
- Same issue with Drag and drop.

My solution:

Ckeditor allows you to disable the default behavior and use an included plugin https://ckeditor.com/cke4/addon/uploadimage but it requires some tweaking. Full solution posted below.

When I change theme Snowflat to Legacy, The following error occured.

plugin wysiwyg-editor: doesn't work with Windows clients

Q2A 1.8.6: the wysiwyg-editor works with linux clients, tested with firefox and chrome.

With Windows clients the place of the widget is just empty. Also tested with firefox and chrome and with different Windows clients.

interestingly enough the wysiwyg-editor works with this installation. I'm using this editor right now with a Windows client.

edit: on Mac-OS it works with Safari and it doesn't work with chrome.

Switching on the console in firefox shows the following error:

Uncaught TypeError: c[a] is undefined

Googling for this error shows, that it is a problem with ckeditor.js. Unfortunately the solutions didn't work for me.

If I copy paste an image in the editor and save, I get an error saying 'Maximum length is 12000 characters'. The image appears fined after it is pasted. Only when I save the question or answer I get that error. Also, the image is now converted into a long text. If I select a small image, then there is no error, but the image does not appear in the question/answer.

I've enabled image upload in the WYSIWYG editor. But when I select image and click 'send it to server', I don't see any activity after that. On the server I do see a 'POST /wysiwyg-editor-upload?qa_only_image....' request for which got a 200 response. On the browser there is no progress. I can't use the editor any further as OK says 'Image source URL is missing' and Cancel does not do anything.

I see a lot of questions here with images in them. How was that done? Copy paste of an image seems very intuitive.

Could anybody tell me what type of editor allows us to preview the text at the same time when we are writing it?

like the one which is used in https://gateoverflow.in.

On that site whenever someone is writing something in editor it shows the preview of that just below that editor which means how the text is going to looks after posting.

Currently, I am using wysiwyg-editor.

Please help! I don't want the users on my site to be able to change font type or font size. I just want them to be able to write content in the default/ normal paragraph format.

Is there a way to disable some of these extra features?

Or is there a simpler editor, I can use as an alternative, that has just basic features and allows you to upload a photo from your computer (not from a link)

WYSIWYG editor images uploading bug

HI everybody!

Ver. 1.8.3. with default WYSIWYG editor plugin.

Images are not being uploaded to server via editor. After selecting file and clicking upload button it alerts with message 'maximum uploaded file size is 8MB'. And nothing anymore.

Even if file has 1Kb size i get this alert.

Seems that script can not detect uploading file size at all. It sees php.ini (8mb limited file size) not more.

Blobs are cofigured to be saved in file system in config file.

What can I do with it?

Copy and paste doesn't work on Chrome mobile

I tried to copy certain text inside the WYSIWYG editor and also tried to paste a link in the text box but both don't work on latest Chrome mobile (ver 71.0.3578.99), https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome

I tried on Firefox mobile ver 59.0.2 and it works.
