From point system to top/best user per month plugin: Point goes wrong if point setting changes

I noticed that the scores will get messing up if I change the point policy which made Q2A recalculate user scores.

As far as I know, here is how the plugin works: First it stores the previous month's total score in the database. And the current monthly score of a user is calculated by:

Total monthly score now (X) = Total score now (A) - Total score of the previous month (B)

Now if I make a change to the score settings, A will change, as A changes, the X changes, but the B will be never changed (B is constant)! And then there will be no mess, and the score won't go crazy.

But now my best user per month list is messing up right now... What I am missed here? And is there any solution to solve this (I had backed up the previous day database, but it is wonderful if I can recover the user score before I making change).

Finally releasing plugin- Top Users per Month/Weekly [Free Plugin]

This plugin adds 2 widgets- for monthly toppers and weekly toppers respectively. Also adds a page for monthly toppers listing.

Uses MYSQL event scheduler - this needs to be enabled. Hence no cronjob required.
Migrates userscores from Best-Users-per-Month free plugin which has a performance bug.
Weekly Scores are counted from the start of installation of plugin
If scoring rates are changed at anytime. the plugin data becomes invalid.
Based on feedback, a new version shall be made with more features.

Top Users per Month Widget+Page [Free Plugin]

I'm about to complete the Top Users per Month plugin which is made from Best Users per Month plugin of q2apro. Functionality wise there is not much difference, except that cronjob is removed. Main feature is fixing the performance bug and hence can be used on active sites. Still turning on MySQL cache is highly recommended.

Also the look and feel is improved a bit. Just need to do some final touches to it ans shall be released in a day or 2. Any enhancement requests are welcome..
