We have been working on a social media posting plugin for Q2A and have managed to come up with this using GitHub copilot.

What it does:

Posts new questions to your social media accounts automatically
Supports Telegram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
Multiple accounts per platform (e.g., different Telegram channels for different topics)
Category-based routing (send Physics questions to one channel, Chemistry to another)
AI-powered message generation using OpenAI
Auto-generates images for Instagram and video for YouTube Shorts
Daily "Question of the Day" and "Quote of the Day" features
Token expiry warnings so you don't miss when API keys need renewal

Why we built it:

Managing social media for a Q2A site is tedious. Copy-pasting links, writing captions, posting to multiple platforms... it adds up. This plugin handles all of that automatically when content is posted.

Some highlights:

Add unlimited accounts per platform
Pick which accounts receive which content types
Nested category support (3 levels) for granular routing
Developer API so other plugins can use the posting functionality
Clean admin UI with collapsible sections

Q2A 1.8+
PHP 7.4+
GD extension (for image generation)
ffmpeg (optional, for YouTube Shorts)

The plugin auto-detects custom tables (^exams, ^blogs, ^jobs) and only shows those content types if they exist.

Hi,
I’m working with a Question2Answer site and I’m using an existing plugin that displays user profile information. I want to extend this plugin so it can read and display a custom user field stored in the Q2A database.

Specifically:

Which plugin hook or layer method should be used to access custom user fields?
Is it better to query the database directly or use Q2A’s built-in user APIs?
Where in the plugin structure should this logic be placed to follow best practices?

Gate Overflow posted a plugin that was created by @pupi1985.
The problem that some of us are facing is that once the plugin is activated, the site throws errors and it's unusable.

Below are the errors:

I have no idea what is causing this or how to fix it. If I can fix the first error then that should take care of the other errors.

The plugin readme.md file gives no information about the plugin. I am hoping someone can share some light on this for me from this community. Google has not been any help with this.

Trying to update Q2A Badges language data

I am using the Badges Plugin. I am trying to understand how to update the Badge Names.

1. What does the qa-badge-lang-default.php language file do? I have updated it, and I am not seeing any change to the website. For example: I replaced the following:

'nice_question'=>'Nice Argument',

Expecting the Badge name to be "Nice Argument" but it is not changing. I understand that I can change them one at a time in the admin area. Do I have to update them one at a time?

I cant update the badge description thought from within the admin area anyway, So I need to do it through the language file..

I have pressed the "Reset Values" button and still no change. I am not sure this is what is required as the text next to the Reset button says "Reset variable badge data as input above". If this is the correct button, I would think it would say something like "Reset variable badge data to default". Either way, it is not updating the badge language. Thanks, Eddie

Sync Users From Normal Registration with Open Login Registered Users

Hi Everyone

Please help me with this scenario. I have a user who registered on our Q2A site using a gmail acccount, the user then logged out and signed in using Open Login gmail option and this is what happened:

The user was assigned a different name
The user was asked to sync the Open login account with th other account but the problem is that it was written in Chinese and she skipped the process. We now have two accounts with the same email and different usernames.

but Google search console 1-9 sitemap submitted

Hi,

is there any plugin out there (paid or free) that extends Q2A with the ability to suggest post edits? Suggesting edits means that someone has to review and approve the edit first (like moderators or users who gained the privilege to edit posts) before the edit is visible in the post to the public.
