I tried to add my site to Google News some time ago, but it did not recognize the feed link that I provided it with.

But a few days ago, Google News began to accept the feed link, and my site was activated.

Here is the feed link you can use:

yourdomain.com/?qa=feed/questions.rss

Google News features:

Instant archiving of your articles in the search engine.
appear in the news box.

I would like to know if is possible to integrate News Script PHP Pro in Q2A or create a plugin to add a News.

Just found a new note in the top right box: To report a bug, please ask a question with the "bug" tag. That reminds me that until today it was kind of coincidence getting informed about news of q2a.

@gidgreen: We would prefer subscribing to a RSS feed to know instantly what is new. In this way everything would be more transparent.

What about opening a mini blog where you just write only 1 or 2 lines quickly as soon as you add a feature, change something in the core, when a plugin is published etc.

Or even better: Post quick news with "news" tag here in the q2a forum. Then we could subscribe to the "news" tag: http://www.question2answer.org/qa/feed/tag/news.rss → But this requires that you, gidgreen, are using this tag =)

This "news thing" would help all the community to stick together and keep up-to-date.

Alternatively you could use a blog engine:

- wordpress blog, e.g. q2a.wordpress.com is free

- blogger blog, e.g. q2ablog.blogspot.com is free

Export User-Mails to write Newsletters

I know that some users before asked, if it would be possible to write newsletters to all users, but sadly it still is not planed. However another way, that i guess is much more simple to develop is an option to export all user-mails. After that you can import it to aweber, mailchimp or icontact and send it out when you got news.

Xpression news integration

Hi everybody,

I did ad-hoc code to modify question2answer, after few days hard worked, I almost get things i need. This is my site: http://www.tenkana.x10.mx

One more thing I want is a simple news module. I dont want to integrate with WP or any CMS for some reasons so I decided to use Xpression news (Xnews). This is a simple news software and it is said that integrating with existing website is very simple with Xnews. I tried to integrate Xnews module to Question2Answer for days but cannot make it done so I post my problem here for some help.

First, I describle what I have done to integrate Xnews with Question2Answer.

1. my QA site is located at localhost/qa. I extract Xnews into this directory and call it from question2answer.

2. in qa-include i create file named qa-page-news.php. Here are the code inside:

- Add one more line in to $qa_routing array as below:

- Add pieces of code at 'include the appropriate PHP file for the page in the request' like this:

That's enough for now to review what have been done. Everything seems to work well when i request http://localhost/qa/index.php?qa=news from browser. Here are the image of my news page:

But i got problem when I click on Xnews category of the news or comments link o any link on the news page. It is redirected me to home page of question2answer. I guess that I need to change something around

in qa-index.php. However, I can not point out what i need to change and how. I tried hard someways couple of days, but I am stuck now.

how to assign category to specific user/group?

How would assign one category to a specific group like admins or mods so only they could post in that category, it would be helpful for a type of news system.
