How do I request a new feature (viz. built-in Quiz system) in Q2A?

I think (this is only my opinion ), q2a must have built in quiz system with it.

Is it possible to request any such feature here.If yes how.

I know lead developers are busy with some other matters, but still want this cms to include

built in QUIZ system with it.

Support query strings for user profile redirects

I think user profile redirect might be improved a bit. Now I'm facing the following problem:

In the latest version of Q2A, when I go to the URL
https://mysite/user
it should redirect to
https://mysite/user/my-username

Supposing I've installed the q2a-privileges plugin on my Q2A installation, the privileges tab will be available via http://mysite/user/my-username?tab=privileges. If I access the URL
https://mysite/user?tab=privileges

it should go to

https://mysite/user/my-username?tab=privileges

and so on for every URL query string.

I know that by accessing https://mysite/user, I get automatically redirected https://mysite/user/my-username. However, if I insert a URL query string, it will be lost during redirect.

So the questions are:

May query strings be kept when handling such redirects?
If it is not possible, does exist there an alternative to achieve such redirect, while keeping query strings (using only HTML)?

The tags have become a mess in our Q&A site. Is there a tag management system which can be used to manage/edit/group tags ?

Localization and Plurals in Q2A!

The english language is very simple when it comes to plurals.

You have 0 elephants, 1 elephant, or 2+ elephants. So basically you have 2 different forms: one singular and one plural.

But for some other languages this is quite more difficult. Let's take the Bosnian language as another example:

You have [1/21/31] slon, [2/3/4] slona, [0/5/6] slonova and [7/8/9/11] ... and some more difficult rules.

The problem with the old system of plurals was, that you would have needed to specify them all, and get a loop in there.

[Feature Request] Better Q2A Market

Hi guys,

When I first visited the official q2a market, I thought there is all plugins and themes by all users but it was only by the authors of q2a so, its kind of weird and not creator friendly. I'm not a theme or plugin maker, however when I need something I want to see everything in one place just like playsore or app store (as a normal user wish I think).

So what I recommend you is to change the q2a website script to an open classified website (something like this http://open-classifieds.com/ ) so that anyone who create something post it there and sell it. User can find anything easily and a bigger q2a market.

Plugin suggestion: Sending notification on the site for all users.

Plugin "On site notifications" is very good. But it would be even better if the site administrator could send a notification to all users. You got it?
The administrator sends all users a new notification with a title and a link.
You can develop with individual notification also prefer. So the administrator can use to manually tell the user that he was punished losing points or earned points for prizes.
I would like mainly to send a news site for all other users, promoting a blog.

Few ideas to Q2A

Hello guys!

Few days ago I bought a Q2A script with a theme (yeah, until yesterday I didn't know nothing about Q2A, I thought this script was made by whom I bought.... well this is another story))

Well, I have a few ideas arounding Q2A and that I think is pretty good to most of users.... please, say something about them and if some hardcoder can do some of them. There a few ideas where are the most for me today... please, feel free to enligth me about these questions

1- on the image upload folder, only upload the image after click "submit"

Reason: someone can click on a wrong image by mistake and upload another one, at this time, the right one. When we click on Upload button, this image really goes to the server instead being only a preview, so the image will increase the amount of files on the folder anyway...

Ideas: it can be created a temp folder to that or delete the image if the "upload" button is clicked again.

2- still on the same folder above, it can be created folders to the images using a system like Wordpress

Reason: all images are going to the same folder, and regardless the OS being used, to find an image inside a folder with 10k+ images is way harder then "/uploads/2014/december/12", and it is faster as well...

3- to watermark system, could be added 2 new options, above and underneath... in case if I want to add a bar to be watermark, just like happens on Memecenter. And create a section on "Plugins" to watermark, so we can set everything on it =)

4- A way to let the users to choose the side of watermark.... some images could have a text where will be replaced by the watermark... so, if the user could a little bit more attentive, he/she could decide which position is better to the watermark be placed =)...

5- Avoid to users register using the same account on social networks.... After I set up my website, and trying to make the facebook login works... now I have 2 users using the same account from facebook.... it should check against the db before register

7 - Create a plugin to see all registered users.... so we can delete, block, admin, send a message or do whatever I want...

8 - How about SVN updates ?

9 - How about a CDN plugin to gDrive or AWS?

10 - Create a plugin to change colors and background more easily.... like, if i want to change the color of topbar, it will have a field on this page to change the color to whatever I want... background of page... background of images.... everything....

11 - Auto zoom or for small images or click to zoom...

12 - this one is harder, but, good enough... add an option to each plugin installed to start to use only after I check/uncheck a box saying "starts now" (or something alike)... now you asks me... ""why? what it is use?""... well, lets suppose I just installed a plugin and I'm still setting it up, but my users are on the website.... they see a new option and starts to use it, but it is not fully configured.... so, "starts now" it will be a good idea =D

There are just a few ideas here.... some can come up later and I will add them here too =)

If, for any idea, there is a plugin already done, please, let me know...

I just accidentally hit the button "Reset to defaults" in the Posting tab of my admin panel. Now I lost a lot of custom html and settings. Wouldn't it be better to pop up a confirmation window?

Make point system transparent / public on default page

It seems that the point system is only transparent to the admin (/admin/points).

I recommend making it public by default, how else should the users understand how they gain points? For instance, for this forum we could use: http://www.question2answer.org/qa/points

For my q2a forums I always set up a separate custom page to show the available points, e.g. http://www.klaustukai.lt/points

Time adjusted point system

Hey guys, just thinking out loud here. What do you think about having a time adjusted point system. The purpose would be to encourage new contribution in matures communities, as it willbe meant to reward those that make fresh contribution to the site. I would not by any means get rid of the current system, but as an additional (and optional) metric.

I have no idea how difficult this could be to implement though

I've started developing this free and opensource(github) plugin for Q2A , and I would appreciate any ideas and suggestions.
here is what I already added, or plan to add to this plugin:

scalable sitemaps(current sitemaps can get very big which is bad for performance and seo). it creates multiple small sitemaps and newtwork sitemaps(with link to other sitemap files).
option to automatically mark pages with short conten as NoIndex.
meta description for sharing(facebook,G+,tweeter) automatically generated and editible by admin.
it will have SEO Links plugin and URL Customizer plugin's features
Advanced Tag Description & similar feature for categories.
page title customization
page title and meta tags editing tool for individual questions.

if you have any ideas, feel free to share. I'll try to add as many usefull features as I can.

Enhancing q2a 1.7 search function suggestion

If we could do more targeted search on q2a it would be nice. Something that will look like this :

to search a tag we could type : "tag: tagname" in search field.

same for user: "user: username"

What do you think ?
